Habit: Bun-shaped shrub (eventually becoming somewhat doughnut shaped as the centre dies out) with slender, close-set stems.
Leaves: Stems covered with overlapping tiny evergreen leaves (leafy stems are conspicuously square in cross section).
Leaf Arrangement: Opposite
Flowers and Fruit: Flowers seldom produced. White in very short racemes.
Water Use, Soil: Well-drained or sandy soil
Exposure: Full sun.
Landscape Uses: Rock gardens, specimen.
Limitations: Dislikes competition.
